Carlo Cignani’s drawing, Two Putti in Clouds was created before 1719 and is a dreamlike vision. The painting captures two cherubic figures floating effortlessly amidst soft, billowing clouds, their delicate forms bathed in gentle light. 

Unlike their solemn, religious counterparts from earlier Baroque art, Rococo putti were more lighthearted and secular, symbolizing love, beauty, and the carefree pleasures of aristocratic life.
